Why is Dickerson Landscaping going to the Bahamas in November?
Dickerson Landscaping is up for another award. This time it is National; It is for Landscaper of the Year 2011. Total Landscape Care Magazine is putting us and 11 others on a ship to sail to the Bahamas, while on board we will be a part of a summit on what is new and exciting in the industry across the country. We will share what innovations and best practices we have come up with over the last couple of years. Then they will be rolling out the red carpet for the awards ceremony. We can hardly wait! We would love to bring such an honor back to Tallahassee.
Also worth mentioning we want to think Green Industry and Irrigation Magazine for featuring us and Pam's yard in an article about Lawn Maintenance and new ways to package services. |

Need Help? Happy Thanks Giving!
We at Dickerson Landscaping know how busy it can be around the holidays. Shopping and Shopping and more shopping is in the forecast. If you forget or just don't have the time to take care of something you need done outdoors give us a call. We will have a crew waiting to handle those last minute requests from now until Christmas, yep Christmas. And since shopping is in the forecast we are giving away two Publix gift cards ($50 each) this month as a part of saying Thank You for Thanksgiving. There are two ways to register. One by referring a friend in need of LM services and the other is to register at our new Client Community. Thanks Tallahassee! |

What is a Client Community you ask?
We created this as a way to say Thank You to our clients and it is a fun and interactive way to do so. It was an idea born out of our values, one of which is "Community." Check it out; go to our website www.Dickersonlandscaping.com; register and keep and eye out for the neat things soon to be appearing. |

Plant of the month!
We are starting a plant of the month and this month its Aspidistra. Aspidistra what? Also know as Cast Iron. Aspidistra is a shade tolerant ground cover and is great for erosion control. It is about 2 feet tall and has a single waxy dark green leaf that comes up from the ground in bunches. What I like best about this plant is it makes a great back drop to plant of color, such as Variegated; Hydrangea, Flax or Hostas. The dark green leaves act as a back stage curtain bring the actor in front to life. Aspidistra usually sells for 6.98 in 1 gal and 14.98 in 3 gal. For the month of November we are putting it on sale for 3.98 in 1 gal and 10.98 in 3 gal. Limited quantities available.

Featured Project
This project was designed to create a classic cottage garden flagstone patio underneath the shade of a huge oak. Flagstone is laid on a solid mortar bed. The project involved pea gravel, reclaimed brick from an old building in Georgia, and traditionally southern plant material. The gravel area is designed to house a fire pit area for the family of four, but also caters to the water requirements of the Oak tree, by allowing water to filter through the gravel bed.
